ABA Regional Affiliates Announce Boston Training Sessions
Noel Griese

Boston, MA, July 26, 2010 -- Three organizations representing independent booksellers throughout the Northeast and Southeast have announced training sessions for members to be held in conjunction with the Great American Bargain Book Show at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston on Aug. 19-20.

The organizations, all affiliates of the American Booksellers Association, are the New England Independent Booksellers Association (NEIBA), the New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association (NAIBA) and the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA).

The session on Thursday (Aug. 19) is titled "Remainder Buying -- Plain, Simple and Profitable." Industry insiders will discuss how booksellers can sell more books and earn more money by adding remainders to their inventory. Retailers can generally buy remainders for much less than conventional books and sell them at higher markups.

Training on Friday (Aug. 20) is titled "EESY CHIT -- Easy, Effective Strategies You Can Happily Implement Today." The session is being anchored by Karin Wilson, owner of the Page & Palette, an independent bookstore with a long and successful history of serving book lovers in Fairhope, Ala.
